Deviousness |
> It makes it a lot easier to critique a picture if it's facing the right way. That way more is noticeable.
> The line width seems consistent for certain parts, except for that one section of the accordion.
> The best feather is the one in the bottom right. It's clear and crisp but has some texture to it.
> The hat is hard to see when black, but it has great lines that really make it look like a real hat.
> It's kind of hard to tell if it is indeed an accordion. It could be a map or piece of cardboard. I think though that the simplified accordion shape does make it clearer and easier though. [link] One thing to note is that when one side is bigger, the other is much smaller, more like a ^ or V shape than a rectangular thing.
> Also, just a matter of personal aesthetics, I think it's best when showing your art to make sure that it all fits properly. The rainbow paper sticks out more than the rest, so I sort of want to tuck it in so that it fits the rectangle. Clean edges are also good for showcasing your art. Or maybe I'm just picky and like everything at 90d always.
I really like the rainbow one best, it seems fitting for Oktoberfest and is bright and pleasing while keeping the lines free and clear to stand out.
> He's really adorable, but his mustache is a bit big and kind of conflicts with the accordion in the bottom left.
> I love his nose, it's really cute and helps balance out the weight of the print.
> The hair sticks out really far, I would move it in the border just a bit so it's not so dominant. It's also cut off slightly by the border, which kind of bothers me for some reason.
> I think you've got just the right amount of white space in the background, and I like that you didn't leave it solid. It's dynamic and can be so many different colors.
> Is his mustache very large or is that hair as well? It might be a good idea to put some space bewteen the two areas so that they can properly stand alone.
This would make a good tshirt for an organization or some such. It's fairly clean and I think could hae a variety of meanings.
I really like this piece! I've seen this sort of idea where there's one image in many color schemes and they can be really cool. I love the little guy playing the accordion, he does it so cutely. I also like the color schemes for the top right and bottom left.
I think you should have done colors for the other two, as that would have had a cool effect. Also for the top right, I think you should have done the same technique as the bottom left.
You did something very clever, and I like that. Continue with your woodwork and I hope you also continue to improve!
